CH24 Ash Wishbone Chair Carl Hansen

The well-known CH24 Ash Wishbone Chair by Carl Hansen and Søn was designed by Hans Wegner as early as 1949
and has been in continuous production since 1950.

The CH24 Wishbone Chair in ash wood is available in soap, white oil and black lacquered finishes.
The ash wood that Carl Hansen uses is around 150 years old and comes from sustainably managed Danish forests.
Ash is a strong type of wood that is distinguished from oak by its light color. White ash wood that has been finished
with natural soap, or with white pigment oil has a very nice light and natural appearance.

Paper cord Seat
Hans J. Wegner first used paper cord on his designs back in 1949. He chose this material because it is incredibly durable
and also as natural as the wood it was to be weaved around.
The paper cord is treated with a light wax coating prior to weaving in order to make it more resistant to discoloration and grease.

Among the Danish furniture designers, Hans J. Wegner is considered one of the most creative, innovative and productive designers.
Often referred to as the master of the chair, Wegner created nearly 500 chairs during his lifetime, many of them
considered masterpieces. He is probably best known for this iconic Wishbone Chair, which has been
continuously produced by the danish Carl Hansen & Son as CH24 since 1950.
