Purple art glass vase with geometric shapes on all sides of the vase and a patterned metal band,
designed by Pentti Sarpaneva.
The glass was manufactured at Oy Kumela and the matching bronze cylinder at Turun Hopea of Finland.
Pentti Sarpaneva, brother of the well known glass designer Timo Sarpaneva, was a designer mostly
known for his beautiful jewelry.
The metal band with a decorative cross pattern around the top of this glass vase is an example of
his vast skills in metal working.
It shows his distinctive style which can also be seen in his jewelry.
