Table Timber Plank | Getama

Getama has now launched Timber, a raw table top in douglas boards from Dinesen.
The table is designed by Friis & Moltke’s design department in collaboration with Getama.
Table Timber Plank consists of two planks of solid douglas or oak timber.
The legs of the table are in the same type of wood, which is being assembled in a metal hinge.
The table comes in several versions or as desired with or without supplementary tabletop in white MDF.

The Getama Timber dining table comes in different sizes and finishes.

Friis & Moltke and Dinesen at Getama

The Timber plank table was designed in collaboration with the traditional furniture company, Getama, who produce many of
Hans Jørgen Wegner’s furniture creations.
The table consists of 2 planks of Douglas fir, provided by Dinesen in Jels, South Jutland.
The idea emerged when FRIIS & MOLTKE needed a solid table for their lunch room.
The task of designing the table fell to Mikkel Bahr, an industrial designer in charge of FRIIS & MOLTKE’s design department.
The table reflects the architectural practice’s unsentimental approach to carpentry, production and architecture,
as in the Brutalism, which was such a feature of FRIIS & MOLTKE’s work in the 1960s and 1970s.
The first tables were commissioned for Skagens Museum.
