Kay Bojesen was originally silversmith, but with the birth of his son, he began to focus on the design of wooden animals, with the idea that everything around should feel soft and good. Each line should be a smile.
These creations have made him one of the greatest pioneers of Danish design. Including the wooden monkey that was the biggest hit in 1951.
In the early 50s the monkey was so popular that it was exhibited in the
Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
