Materials & Craftsmanship

The CH24P pairs beautifully with Wegner’s dining tables such as the CH327, CH337, CH338, CH339 and CH388.
Natural materials reinforce each other, creating a calm and harmonious dining space.

Carl Hansen & Søn uses oak aged 150–250 years, revealing its subtle grain even in the black‑lacquered version.
The leather selection meets a wide range of needs:
Terra aniline leather – silky, natural, and developing a beautiful patina
Loke & Thor leathers – more durable and resistant to daily wear

The Wishbone Chair – A Timeless Classic

When Hans J. Wegner designed the CH24 in 1949, he drew inspiration from antique Chinese furniture, translating it into a new expression of Scandinavian design.
His meticulous craftsmanship and deep respect for wood shaped a chair that has become one of the most iconic pieces of Danish modern furniture.

For more than 70 years, the Wishbone Chair has been produced without altering a single detail—from the recognizable Y‑shaped backrest to the steam‑bent frame.
Its simple form and lightweight construction are the result of a complex process of over 100 steps. Each chair is made in Denmark from FSC‑certified wood,
with fourteen components carefully assembled and finished by hand.
