PH Artichoke LED
The design classic PH Artichoke was designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 for Louis Poulsen.
The Artichoke is available in 4 sizes: diameter 48cm, 60cm, 72 cm and 84 cm.
Of which the last two are mainly used in exceptional projects.
Both sizes are available in the finishes:
The fixture emits comfortable glare-free diffuse light. Matt painted undersurfaces and glossy top surfaces
result in an attractive reflection of the diffused light, creating uniform light distribution around the fixture.
When the light is switched on, the top portion is illuminated while the bottom part remains dark.
LED available from diameter 60cm, please contact us for prices.
The PH Artichoke is considered a classic masterpiece that Poul Henningsen designed more than 40 years ago.
The structure consists of twelve steel arches. On this PH 72 placed copper "blades" in twelve circular rows with 6 leaves in each row.
Because each row has shifted from the previous row, all 72 sheets can "protect each other".
This design makes it possible to view the luminaire from any angle without being able to see the light source located in the center of the PH Artichoke.
The original PH Artichoke luminaires were developed for a restaurant in Copenhagen,
the Langelinie pavilion, and they still hang there.
Due to its classic design look in combination with the optimal light emission, the PH Artichoke pendant lamp
by designer Poul Henningsen ideal for project and office design.
