The aim of the designer of the CH44 Lounge Chair was to design a lounge chair with simplified forms and perfect functionality. The lounge chair is, besides extremely comfortable, also very easy to move around because of it's light weight. The chair features typically Wegner traits such as visible joints between the foreleg and the armrest which help make the chair very strong. The CH44 lounge chair is crafted from solid wood and features a durable hand-woven paper cord seat. The lounge chair became a beautifully crafted easy chair and one of the range of Shaker-inspired Wegner pieces.
The CH44 lounge chair, designed in 1965 by Hans J. Wegner, is simplicity perfected. The simplicity of the lounge chair design was inspired by the principles of American Shaker furniture, which also was Wegner’s inspiration for the closely related CH46 and CH37 chairs. The overall effect appears striking and the result is comfortable.

The frame is made from solid wood, available in the following colours: soaped oak, white oiled oak, oiled oak, clear lacquered oak, black painted oak (wood grain visible).
The seat is made of hand-woven paper cord and is available in unbleached/natural or black.
The chair is available with optional seat and backrest cushions in fabric or leather.
The CH44 Lounge Chair has a matching low CH53 footstool for added comfort.
