Architectmade FJ Essence Large Bowl by Finn Juhl

FJ Essence Large Bowl | Finn Juhl for Architectmade

The FJ Essence Large Bowl by Architectmade beautifully brings Finn Juhl’s unique design language to life.
The bright white, hand‑glazed porcelain flows in soft, organic lines that are globally recognised as part of Juhl’s sculptural style.

The design dates back to 1952, but was never produced at the time due to the complexity of the porcelain shape.
As a result, the tea service remained a hidden treasure within Juhl’s body of work for decades.
Sixty years later, Architectmade rediscovered the original drawings and finally brought the complete FJ Essence collection to life
— fully faithful to Juhl’s vision.
Each bowl is carefully hand‑glazed, giving every piece its own unique character.

The artistic vision of Finn Juhl

Finn Juhl was one of the most influential Danish designers of the 1950s. His sculptural forms, refined detailing
and innovative approach to functionality gave a powerful impulse to Danish modernism.
Although he began at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts without a craft background, Juhl developed a completely
distinct design language that remains iconic within Scandinavian design today.
