The beech J39 chair by Fredericia, designed by Børge Mogensen in 1947, is celebrated for its timeless clarity,
practical details, and exceptional durability.
For the colored J39 beech chair, you can choose from black, white, indigo blue, army green, "Heritage Red," pebble gray or vintage lacquer.
The natural beech "People's Chair" has a soap finish.
A staple in both private homes and public interiors, the J39 combines natural materials with a restrained,
functional aesthetic that has kept it in continuous production for generations.

Design and Details
The J39’s clean silhouette and thoughtful proportions make it remarkably versatile. Key design features
are both beautiful and purposeful: the organically shaped horizontal stretchers strengthen the frame,
the rear legs are set closer together to reduce collisions at the table, and contrasting wooden discs discreetly
conceal the backrest screws. The papercord seat adds tactile warmth and long-lasting comfort.

Materials |
The J39 has a solid wood frame and a veneered backrest. The beech frame can be treated with soap or sprayed with colour.

The seat comes standard in natural papercord, leather or canvas.
The semi-aniline leather is available in black, cognac, and dark brown. The canvas seat is available in natural or black.

The J39 chair is also available in walnut or oak with an oil or lacquer finish.
The black lacquered oak chair can also be supplied with a black papercord seat.
